Not only do these productions cost a great deal of money, but also the Media Department is constantly in need of funds to sustain its excellent program. The EMSB has made it possible for Laurier Macdonald High School to establish The Media Education Foundation to generate income. This Foundation, along with such projects as the Rainbow of Dreams Series will permit the financing of future projects. These will allow students to have a greater exposure to wider choices within the field of media communications. Members of the Foundation include Frank Tiseo, who retired in 2004, Leon Llewellyn, another long time teacher, parents, members of the St Leonard community and representatives of the EMSB. The Foundation is the first of its kind in Quebec and is supported by Ms. Abigail Anderson, co-coordinator of English Language Services at the Ministry of Education for Quebec, and Mr. Charlie Levy, former Director General of the EMSB. This
Foundation once again sets Laurier Macdonald High School apart from
the rest of the schools in the province. Support for the Foundation
will go a long way to ensuring that Laurier Macdonald will continue
to be a leader in the field of Media.
